Lenovo ZUK is a sub brand of Lenovo which has recently launched some great phones. The ZUK phones have given a tough competition to other Chinese smartphones. Today, we will compare two smartphones from the ZUK brand: Lenovo Zuk Edge and Lenovo Z2 Plus (Lenovo Zuk 2).
Design and Display:
Lenovo Zuk Edge comes with a 5.5-inch display and has the dimensions of 142.9 (H) x 74.5 (W) x 7.6 (T) mm. Lenovo Zuk Edge weighs 160 grams and comes in two colors Ceramic White and Titanium Black.
Lenovo Zuk Edge has a 5.5-inch display which is Full High Definition. Lenovo Zuk Edge has the pixel density of 401 PPI and uses IPS LCD display type. The screen is protected by a scratch resistant display and has the screen to body ratio of 78.15 %.
Lenovo Z2 Plus, on the other hand comes with a smaller display of 5 inches and has the dimensions of 141.6 (H) x 68.8 (W) x 8.4 (T) mm. Zuk Edge is thinner than Z2 plus but Z2 Plus is lighter than Zuk Edge. Lenovo Z2 Plus weighs 149 grams only. It is available in two colours- black and white.
Lenovo Z2 Plus is also known by Lenovo Zuk, it also has a Full High definition display. Both the devices lack 2K display. Lenovo Z2 Plus has slightly greater pixel density than that of the Lenovo Zuk Edge. Lenovo Z2 Plus has a pixel density of 441 PPI. Lenovo Z2 Plus also comes with an IPS LCD display type and has a screen to body ratio of 70.58%.
There is no branding on the front side for either of the phone. There is an 8 MP front camera above the display in both the devices. Below the display lies the fingerprint sensor in between the two capacitive keys in both the devices. The volume and power button are on the right side of the device like majority of the phones. In Lenovo Z2 Plus, the camera module is located at the top left corner of the device, whereas in Lenovo Zuk Edge it is located in the centre.
Lenovo Zuk Edge uses Qualcomm Snapdragon 821 MSM8996 Prochipset whereas Lenovo Z2 Plus uses Qualcomm Snapdragon 820 MSM8996 chipset. Both the devices run on Quad core processor, but Zuk Edge runs at 2.35 Ghz where as Z2 Plus runs at 2.15 Ghz. They both have Adreno 530 GPU. Lenovo Zuk Edge comes with a 6 GB RAM, whereas Lenovo Z2 Plus has only 4 GB RAM.
Lenovo Zuk Edge will run on the latest Android Nougat (7.0) whereas Lenovo Z2 Plus runs on Android Marshmallow(6.0). Both the devices will have its own custom UI ZUI on top.
Camera and storage
Both the devices have a similar camera configuration. They both have 13MP camera which supports Phase detection autofocus. They have an aperture of 2.2 F and lack optical image stabilization. Both give the maximum image resolution of 4128 x 3096 Pixels and have usual modes like HDR, touch to focus, etc. Lenovo Z2 Plus records video at 3840×2160 @ 30 fps whereas the video quality of Zuk edge is not known yet.
Again, both the devices have a similar front camera configuration of 8 MP. Lenovo Zuk Edge comes with a CMOS sensor. Both the devices have an aperture of 2.2 F and lack flash.
Storage wise also both the devices have similar configurations. They both come with 64 GB internal memory which is non-expandable.
Battery and connectivity
There is a slight difference in the battery configuration of the devices. Lenovo Zuk Edge comes with 3100 mAh battery whereas Lenovo Z2 Plus has a slightly bigger battery of 3500 mAH. Both the devices have non-removable battery and use Li-Polymer. Also, both the devices support quick charging v3.
Both Lenovo Zuk Edge and Lenovo Z2 Plus are dual SIM devices which support 4G in both the slots. Lenovo Z2 Plus also supports VOLTE whereas for ZUK Edge we are not sure yet. Both the devices lack NFC and micro USB support.They both use USB TYPE C port.
Both the devices are almost similar with Lenovo Zuk Edge having 5.5-inch screen, whereas Lenovo Z2 Plus has 5 inch screen. Lenovo Zuk Edge has bigger RAM than Lenovo Z2 Plus, though other hardware is almost similar. For more information on these phones, visit 91mobiles.
